Facing the famous Rocher du Diamant (Diamond Rock), the town of Le Diamant is located in the southwest of the island of Martinique and offers the ideal base from which to visit the south of the island.

Rich in history, Le Diamant has seen some interesting times, from the first colonisation by the Arawak people to the French contending with the British for control of the Saint Lucia Channel. You can trace the history of Martinique via various cultural attractions such as Le Diamant Museum, the Maison du Gaoulé, the Anse Cafard Slave Memorial and more.

There is also a wealth of sports activities not to be missed, including scuba diving, horse riding on the beach, paragliding, surfing and jet skiing! Lively and tourist friendly, Le Diamant has many bars and restaurants.

Le Diamant boasts a great selection of beaches: Diamant Beach, Anse Cafard Beach, La Cherry Beaches, O 'Mullane Beach.

Departing from O’Mullane, you can follow the hiking trail that runs alongside Diamant Beach, among other places, to get to the Maison du Bagnard.

A Visit to the Trois Rivières Plantation

A Visit to the Trois Rivières Plantation

Founded in 1660 by Nicolas Fouquet, Superintendent of Finances to King Louis XIV, the Trois Rivières Plantation is one of the oldest in Martinique.

A little piece of france
Between the Atlantic Ocean
and the Caribbean Sea

The overseas territory of Martinique is a small piece of France located where the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea meet, in a group of islands known as the Lesser Antilles. The island’s original Creole language name, Madinina, means ‘island of flowers’ and is an evocative reflection of the diversity of Martinique’s flora and landscapes.

The south, the most tourist-oriented part of the island, offers dancing in the evenings in Saint-Anne and sunbathing on Salines Beach ... You can also visit the Sugarcane Museum, the Clément au François distillery and treat yourself to a shopping spree in Trois Ilets.

In the less developed north, you can stroll amidst the botanical splendour of the Jardin de Balata, climb Mount Pelée, and stroll through the ruins of Saint-Pierre… This end of the island has a much more mountainous and green terrain that holds some real surprises.
